Airlines Policy
1. Can ELALA be carried onboard as hand luggage?
Yes. ELALA can be carried onboard, subject to the airline’s cabin baggage allowance and policies.
For example, AirAsia provides 7kg of cabin baggage allowance by default, with an option to purchase an additional 7kg for RM55. Passengers should ensure that ELALA and any other cabin baggage remain within the airline’s permitted weight and size limits.
2. Can ELALA be checked in as luggage?
Yes. Before checking in ELALA, the battery must be removed/unplugged from the luggage and carried separately in the cabin in accordance with the airline’s battery requirements.
Once removed, the battery can also be used as a power bank, subject to the airline’s applicable regulations.
3. What if ELALA is damaged during check-in?
ELALA is covered by a 1-year warranty, subject to the applicable warranty terms and conditions.
If the damage affects the functionality of the luggage and the affected part cannot be repaired or replaced, a 1-to-1 exchange may be provided, subject to warranty assessment and approval.
4. Why have I heard that electric luggage or scooters are prohibited by airlines?
Some airlines restrict or prohibit luggage and small electric vehicles that have a built-in, non-removable battery, as the battery cannot be separated from the device during transportation.
ELALA is designed with a removable battery, allowing the battery to be separated from the luggage when required for air travel. The ELALA battery is designed to comply with the applicable flight battery capacity requirements of below 100Wh, and is CCC and SIRIM certified.
However, airline policies may vary. Passengers should always check with their respective airline before travelling.
5. What makes ELALA different from other brands?
ELALA is designed with a strong focus on riding performance, comfort and stability.
Compared with many other electric luggage options, ELALA offers a top speed of up to 25km/h, providing a more enjoyable and efficient riding experience. Its design also focuses on stability, control and riding comfort, making it easy to manoeuvre for riders across different age groups.
